Small Business Startup

Starting a small business can seem daunting, however make it logical and straight forward by dividing the big task into "bite size" pieces.  This should reduce the stress of the big task by providing continued success steps.  An example of the small steps:

  • Select a Business Name
  • Register the Business Name
  • Determine the legal form of you business
  • Develop a Business Plan
  • Establish professional relationships (Banks, Attorneys, Financial Advisors, Accountants)
  • Meet the Legal&Financial needs so that your company can do business
  • Establish Financing
  • Set a price for your Product/Service
  • Develop a Marketing Plan

However, before you develop a Business Plan, get some Business Cards made, to use if you need them, and develop your Business Description.  This is a very short statement of what your business is.  Practice this so that it is at the ready and you have it at the ready when asked.  Then, go forth and network.  People need to know what your business does and they need to know you.
