About the City of Greenville
Economic Development promotes a variety of activities and programs designed to obtain a healthy balance of strategic growth and improved quality of life. This is addressed by facilitating private development, implementing programs for business retention, pursuing annexation opportunities, developing and implementing plans and strategies for revitalization, recruiting businesses, and cultivating residential development opportunities City-wide.

- Research on demographics for site selection including radius and drive time analysis.
- Customized mapping through Geographic Information System (GIS).
- Limited listings of available properties in the Downtown and several commercial corridor areas.
- Building renovation feasibility analysis through City Building and Property Maintenance Division.
- Coordination of annexation of real estate.
- Review and approval of signs, building renovation or construction plans, coordination of rezoning requests.
- Information on taxes and incentives including the Business License Abatement program for new businesses.
