Planning is critical to starting and building a business. We've provided a link to an assessment, and information on the local organizations that can help you get ready—from developing a business plan to developing a business network.
SBDC
This is the step where many people give up on a good idea, for no good reason. Think of the business plan as the place where you document all the things you’ve learned about this potential business or industry.
Many resources exist for developing business plans, with various levels of cost and effort associated. The approach of our SBDC is to support your efforts with basic templates as starting points. We make available MS Word and Excel files to help you get started. Our templates are designed to fill general needs, and introduce you to the formats of basic documents and financial statements. Our templates can be requested by email to sbostic@clemson.edu.
Take a look over the files, fill in the information you can find, do you research, and make your best guesses about the financial projections. Then contact us and we can help you pull together the pieces to move your business idea one step closer to your goals.
